Armando J. “Mando” Travaglione, 81 of Somerville, died Friday after a brief illness. Born in Boston, he lived in Somerville for the past 56 years and formerly of the North End of Boston. Armando was the son of the late Anna (Mucci) and Mario Travaglione. He was a Presser at Apparell Manufacture for 45 years and retired in 1997.
Beloved husband of Anna (Scola) Travaglione. Devoted father of John A. and Lawrence J. Travaglione both of Somerville and Debra A. Caldwell of Norwell. Loving grandfather of Lawrence J. Travaglione Jr. of Somerville, Tiffany Travaglione of Chelsea, and Rachael Caldwell of Norwell. Brother of Harold Travaglione of Raynham, and the late Mary Fantasia, Felecia Solimine, Edith Capparella, Rose Bowe, John, Ronald, Mario, Louie, and Ralph Travaglione. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
