WORCESTER____Helen A. (Urevich) Tauras, 86, formerly of Millbury Street, recently a resident of Radius Health Care Center, died Thursday February 27, 2008 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street. Her husband, Joseph J. Tauras died in 2004.
She leaves a daughter, Marion M. Tauras of Worcester; a son, Joseph F. Tauras and his wife Joyce of Windham, N.H., two grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank Urevich, Albert Urevich and Joseph Urevich. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Victor and Monica (Valuskis) Urevich and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Tauras worked as a cashier 10 years for Caldor’s and retired in 1992. She was also a dressmaker for many years. She was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Girl’s Trade High School. Helen was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.
The private funeral will be held Saturday March 1 with a Mass in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, is directing funeral arrangements.
