Mary (Pires) Nordeste, age 93, resident of Somerset for 64 years. Passed away in Fall River Feb. 20, 2008. Widow of Manuel C. Nordeste. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John & Egelica (Michael) Pires. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Somerset & the Somerset Center Seniors Club. Before retiring in 1976, she was a Floor Lady at Chesterfield Dress Co. for 35 years.
She is survived by: 1 Son: Gerald & wife Susan Nordeste of Assonet. 2 Granddaughters: Shannon Affonso of Taunton & Erin Nordeste of Stoneham, MA. Several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late John Pires.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. on Monday at 8:45 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 P.M.
