WEBSTER/HOUSTON - Anna G. “Anne” (Szynal) Iglowski, 93, formerly of Webster, MA, died Monday, February 18, at her home in Houston, TX. Her husband of 44 years, Rudolph Iglowski, died in 1992.
She leaves two sons, Rudy A. Iglowski and his wife Terry of Houston, TX, and Stephen J. Iglowski and his wife Nadine of Auburn; a sister, Jane Lempicki of Webster; 3 grandsons, Nicholas, Adam, Andrew and his fiancé Susan Mara; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Stanley and Gladys (Naczkowski) Szynal and lived here most of her life before moving to Houston in 2002. After graduating from Bartlett High School and while attending Becker College, she left to go to work in Washington, D.C. during World War II, at the Office of Strategic Services (OSS.) She returned to Webster after the war and worked in the finance department at Anglo Fabrics Company for many years before retiring.
While she lived in Webster, Mrs. Iglowski was a parishioner of St. Joseph Basilica and an active member of the Polish Women’s Alliance, serving as treasurer for many years.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 23, from Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be held from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either St. Joseph School or St. Joseph Basilica, both 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.
