Ludowici – Mr. Claude E. Edenfield, age 76, died Monday, February 18, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Candler County and had lived in Long County for the past forty-two years. He was a veteran of the Korean War achieving the rank of Corporal; a line-man for Georgia Power Company for twenty-four years and then went on to work 20 years in Civil Service. He was a member of Rye Patch Baptist Church and was an avid horseman.
He is survived by his wife: Ann H. Edenfield; step-daughter Shirley and husband Larry Smiley all of Ludowici; one granddaughter, two great-grandsons and one sister Madalyn Edenfield of Metter also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Claude E. Edenfield will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11:00 a. m. from the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Eugene McDuffie officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. from the NeSmith Room of Howard~ Jones~ Nobles Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Larry Smiley, Michel Bobo, David Long, Harold Long, Jordan Long, and John Long.
