Jorge C. Pereira, 90, of Mississauga, Ontario died February 15, 2008 at Credit Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Isaura Pereira and Maria Pereira.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he lived in Canada for 15 years before residing in New Bedford for 36 years. In 2002, he returned to Canada.
Survivors include a son, Francisco Correia of Clarkson, Ontario; 2 daughters, Maria Almeida of Acushnet and Maria Leonor Costa of Mississauga, Ontario; a brother, Jose Correia Domingos of New Bedford; a sister, Maria Helena Pereira of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Teodoro Correia and Saul DeSousa.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, February 23rd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, February 22nd from 5-9 PM.
