WORCESTER-Shirley F. Johnson, 72, of 4 Third Street died Wednesday, February 5th at home after a long illness. She leaves a son, Steven A. Soares of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Gail A. Lehto of Worcester; 2 brothers, Harold R. Johnson with whom she lived and William O’Connor also of Worcester; 3 sisters, Nila Allen of Spencer, Marilyn Tonelli of Charlton and Kathleen Wilk of Worcester; 2 grandchildren and a nephew. A brother, Edward P. Johnson predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Harold J. and Catherine E. (O’Connor) Johnson and lived here all her life. Ms. Johnson worked as a waitress at Dunkin Donuts for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo and loved to travel.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 8th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, February 7th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
