Obituary

Helen F. Valcour, age 82, of Woburn died February 17th at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a lengthy illlness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. “Bud” Valcour. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Donohoe) Damrath.

Mrs. Valcour was a life long resident of Woburn. Helen and her late husband owned and operated the Valcour Dental Supply Co. Inc.. Helen assisted in all areas of the business but primarily focused on the bookeeping and clerical duties. As a young lady Helen worked as a switchboard operator. Helen enjoyed music and especially enjoyed listening to Frank Sanatra. Mostly devoted to her loving family, Helen cherished spending time with them and enoyed traveling and taking bus tours with her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Deborah A. Kenney and her husband Stanley, Caroline Freely and her husband Jay all of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of John Joseph Freeley and Timmy James Freeley. She is also survived by her sister, Ann (Damrath) McNult and is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her late husband and parents, Mary is predeceased by her brother, the late William Damrath, and sisters, the late Jane McPherson and Irene Stevens.

Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 100 Washington St. Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the American Diabetes Assoc. 330 Congress St., Fifth floor, Boston, MA 02210.
