Obituary

Salem: Lucienne Mary Taché, 99 of Salem, died of natural causes, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Salem.
Mrs. Taché was born on July 15, 1908 in Salem to the late Octave and Amanda Dionne. She graduated from St. Chretienne Academy in Salem and attended business schools in Boston.
Early in her business life, she was an administrative secretary for the Boston and Maine Railroad. Following an eight year period as a dedicated mother and homemaker in Beacon Fall, Connecticut, she resumed her work life as a saleswoman in the retail fur and clothing industry in Salem. After her retirement she spent much of her time as a devoted and loving grandmother to her six grandchildren.
As a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem, she participated in both parish fundraising and recreational activities. In addition to extensive travel within the United States and Europe, she enjoyed attending the Peabody Essex Museum speaker series. She was a avid bridge and whist player, particularly with family and friends, and savored fine dining at seafood restaurants on the North Shore.
Mrs. Taché was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years Joseph Anthony Taché, stepmother Angelina (Lirette) Dionne, her brother Hector Dionne and sister Simone Dionne.
Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Joseph and Julie Taché of Salem, Gerald and Janice Taché of Annapolis, MD, six grandchildren, John & Joseph Taché of Redondo Beach, CA, Garett & Dawn Taché of Columbia, MD, Jerald & Dierdre Taché , Julianna Taché and her husband Mark McLaughlin, Jennifer & Michael Ginley all of Salem, and 2 great-grandchildren, Jack Ginley of Salem and Anna Taché of Columbia, MD.
Family and friends are invited to her funeral on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 8 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her funeral mass in Ste Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9 am.
