Obituary

Fall River - Howard S. Tripp, 90, of Westport passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Barbara E. (Manchester) Tripp.

Born in Westport, son of the late Willis L. and Helen E. (Wall) Tripp, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A graduate of Stockbridge School of Agriculture at University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he was the owner / operator of Pine Bridge Farm in Westport. Mr. Tripp was a former director of the Bristol County Farm Bureau, former director at Agri-Mark of Methuen and former director of Bristol County A.S.C.S. He was a founding member of the Westport Agricultural Fair and a 70 year member of the Westport Grange.

Survivors include a son: James H. “Jay” Tripp and his wife Dawn of Westport; a daughter: Jane E. Bernardo and her husband Frank of Westport; 4 brothers: Willis A. Tripp of Ocala, FL; Russell E. Tripp of Westport; Alvin W. Tripp of Westport and Ernest H. Tripp of Ocala, FL; 5 grandchildren: James H. Tripp, Jr. and his wife Filomena, Deborah A. Carvalho, Kevin J. Tripp, Susan E. Tripp and Lauren B. Bernardo and 5 great grandchildren, all of Westport; 4 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Linwood M. Tripp, Carl F. Tripp and Edith Traganza.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
