Providence - Robert Paul Vaillancourt, aged 73 years, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at R.I. Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the former husband of Lucinda (Melo) and the late Diane (Liotta) Vaillancourt. Mr. Vaillancourt was the father of Renee Sherburne wife of Philip C. of Wakefield, RI., Robert S. Vaillancourt of Seekonk, MA. and Michael S. Vaillancourt husband of Lisa (Bernier) of Nashua, NH. Mr. Vaillancourt was the brother of Marcelle and Jeanne DeCambra both of Somerset, Richard Vaillancourt of Westerly, RI. and Albert Vaillancourt of Fall River, MA. He was also the father of the late Stephen Vaillancourt and grandfather of Karin Sherburne.
Mr. Vaillancourt was a son of the late Phillip and Jeannette (Pelissier) Vaillancourt. He was born in Fall River and has lived in Seekonk since 1964. Mr. Vaillancourt was a retired teacher from the Somerset Public School system, he was a Registered Barber at Phil’s Barber Shop and he served in the U.S.Army. He had received degrees as an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, a Masters of Education and a Masters of Administration. Mr. Vaillancourt was a member of the American Legion Post 311 in Seekonk, MA.
Visitation for Mr. Vaillancourt will take place at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA. on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2 – 3 P.M. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
