Mary Charlotte Averitt Mary Charlotte Averitt, 73, Clarksville, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 4 pm Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Louder, Rev. Bobby Case, David Averitt, and Rev Steve Angus officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 3:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born on December 25, 1934 in Clarksville, TN daughter of James Sidney Matthews and Lottie Bumpus Matthews. She was past member of the First United Methodist Church of McMinnville, TN where she served as the secretary for the church council, was an active member of the Womens Guild and served as communion steward. Upon returning to Clarksville she rejoined the Clarksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as an ordianed elder. She was a member of the Clarksville Garden Club. Survivors include her husband, Terry C. Averitt; a son Matt Averitt (Patty); a daughter, Susan Averitt Hamaker (Gene) all of Clarksville; a brother J. Sid Matthews, Hermitage, TN; four grandchildren, Mary Beth Russell (David), Matt Hamaker, Lyndsay A. Koyama (Chad), and Katie Averitt; and one great-grandchild, Kyleigh Rae Koyama. Pallbearers will be Matt Hamaker, Gene Hamaker, David Russell, Matt Averitt, Chad Koyama, and Damian Maloney. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Matthews, Jimmy Matthews, Larry Lynn Averitt, Clint Averitt, Betsy Atkins, Chris Atkins, Kenny Averitt, Leigh Ann Averitt-Neperud, and Phil Averitt.
