WORCESTER___Richard M. Zdonczyk, 60, of Worcester, died Monday February 11 in his home. His wife Jane C. (Degnis) Zdonczyk died in 1994.
He leaves a son, Richard Zdonczk, Jr, two daughters, Rachel Zdonczyk and Rebecca Zdonczyk, a brother, Thaddeus Zdonczyk, and a grandson, Joshua Zdonczyk, all of Worcester. He also leaves several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a grandson, Dominic Boddie. He was born in Worcester, a son of Adolph and Bronislawa (Baldowski) Zdonczyk and lived here all his life.
Mr. Zdonczyk was a fork truck driver for many years. He worked for McKesson Co., and before that worked for Sweet Life Co. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
Richard was a United States Marine Corps veteran and was a Marine reservist. He enjoyed fishing and loved the Red Sox.
The funeral will be held on Friday February 15 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday February 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
