Obituary

Windham, NH – Bernard A. “Bernie” McCabe, 76, died Wednesday February 6, 2008 at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH following a brief illness.
Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Bernard and Sabina (Sheridan) McCabe. In 1949 he graduated from Central Catholic High School and received an Associates Degree from New Hampshire College.
Mr. McCabe was a veteran in the U.S. Navy and an attendant of Mary Queen of Peace Church and he was also a member the Arlington Social Club of Lawrence, MA.

For many years he was general manager of the Lawrence Post Office prior to his retirement.
A longtime resident of Methuen he is survived by his wife of 53 years; Beverly A. (DiLonardo) McCabe.
Survivors included daughters, Robin J. McCabe Kennedy, of Salem, NH, and Shawna M. & husband Cliff Wallace of Windham, NH, sisters Catherine Landers, & Patricia Andersen, brothers John and Brian McCabe and 4 grandchildren Sean, Shayna, Jacob, and Kalei, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by his sister Rosemary Clauson.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Mary Queen of Peace Church of Salem, NH.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
