Obituary

KEENE, NH: Brian M. Kirby, 39, died unexpectedly Friday, February 8, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Kenmore, New York on March 28, 1968, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marguerite (John) Kirby. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo and received his master’s degree from the University of Idaho. He had been a resident of Keene, New Hampshire for the past year.
Brian’s strength was in mathematics and he had taught at Buffalo State College. More recently, he had worked at the Keene Sentinel, tutored students at Keene State College, and was currently employed at Measured Progress in Dover, NH.
He loved sports, and especially enjoyed hockey. He was also an excellent bowler and once scored 300. Brian was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Ann Kirby of Rockport, MA, Kenneth and Susan Kirby of Amherst, NY, three nephews and a niece, Sean, Matthew, Nathaniel and Claire Kirby, two aunts, Carol Bramblett of Rindge, NH, and Evelyn John of Dorchester, MA. He also leaves several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Delia John.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday in the Orthodox Congregational Church, 1120 Washington Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Prayers of committal will be held privately in the Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Monadnock Family Services, Keene, NH or the Christian Children's Fund.
