Violet R. Egan, 88, of Derry, NH, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mrs. Egan was born in Boston, MA on October 1, 1919, a daughter of the late Leslie and Anna (Norris) Soper. She was a resident of Derry since 1968, formerly living in Mattapan, MA. She spent a lot a time at the Marion Gerrish Center in Derry socializing and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at Taylors Barn in Windham. Mrs. Egan enjoyed knitting, sewing, going to the beach and watching TV. She was a good mother and friend.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda E. Berger of Philadelphia, PA; one son, Francis J. Egan, Jr. of Manchester, NH; her twin sister, Daisy Boyd of Westbrook, CT; her sister, Dorothy Palermo of Port Richie, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis J. Egan, Sr. in 2001.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, February 7th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
