Mary C. Trova, 92

Mary C.(Strona) Trova, 92, of Norton formerly of Pittsfield died on Saturday February 2, 2008 at home. She was the wife of the late Peter Trova who passed away on November 3, 2007. The couple had wed on April 18, 1936.
Born in New York City, New York on November 22, 1915 she was a daughter of the late Albert and Domenica (Tonello) Strona.
She grew up and was educated in both Pennsylvania and Pittsfield, MA. Mrs. Trova served as a dedicated homemaker to her family.
While living in Pittsfield Mary was a communicant of All Souls Church. She and her late husband were founding members and charter officers of the Italian-American Club in Pittsfield.
Mary will always be remembered for her exceptional cooking skills. She also enjoyed playing card games, her favorite being poker. She had made her home in Norton for nearly 28 years and was a former resident of Pittsfield for over 50 years. Mrs. Trova and her late husband Peter had also formerly wintered in Port St. Lucie, Florida for 22 years.
She is survived by her children; Saundra V. Perez and her husband Santiago of Norton and Peter R. Trova and his wife Barbara of Pittsfield, She was the sister of Albertina Smith of Arlington, Texas, Dolores Beauchemin and her husband Albert of Adams, MA and the late Victor Strona, Rena Vezina and Georgette Kennedy. Also surviving are 6 grandsons, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday February 5th at 2:00 P.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St., Norton. Burial will be held on Saturday February 9th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Pittsfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral mass on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Mary’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Community VNA 10 Emory St. Attleboro, MA 02703.
