Gladys Fussell, 80 of Fitzgerald died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Pastor Bobby Hires officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Fussell was born September 8, 1931 in Irwin County to the late J.P. and Mattie Lou Phillips Young. She was a homemaker and lived in the community most of his life. Ms. Fussell was a former employee of Mary’s Café and a former Nurses Aide for the Irwin County Hospital. She was a member of Abbeville Primitive Baptist Church.
Ms. Fussell is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis & Kay Fussell of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Tillie Mixon and Lewis T. Fussell, III; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Young of Tifton, Buck Young and Melvin Young both of Fitzgerald and a sister, JoAnn Grantham of Tifton.
