Evelyn Aultman Eve, 86, of Tifton died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2008, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church. Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sherwood Collins, Buck Rigdon, Dr. Steve Rigdon, Arthur Adkins, Ross Pittman and Tommy Pittman. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Adkins, Buddy Kulbersh and Jimmy Grubbs. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Eve was born on January 11, 1922 in Worth County and was the daughter of John Green Aultman and Emma Estelle Shiver Aultman, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Worth Eve, whom she married on February 25, 1956; and two brothers, Forrest E. Aultman and Murray G. Aultman. She was retired from the Registrar's Office at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where she had worked for 28 years as assistant to the registrar. She was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church; the Camellia Garden Club; Springhill Country Club; Ladies Golf Association; and the Kicklighter Sunday School Class of Tifton's First Baptist Church. She attended South Georgia College in Douglas and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.
Ms. Eve is survived by one sister, Mary A. Hackett of Louisiana; one niece; several nephews; and a beloved friend, DeeDee Collins.
