TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Anne M. (Mannett) Leger, age 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 29th, at theHeritage Nuring Care Center in Lowell after a lengthly illness. She was the wife of the lateWilrose O. “Pete” Leger, who died in December 1992.
She was born in Nova Scotia, June 24, 1913, a daughter of the late James and Marie Mannett. She was raised in Canada, and emigrated to the Somerville and Cambridge area at age 25. She lived in Tewksbury from 1955 until 1997, when she moved to Dracut.
Sheworked as a teletype operator for American Builtrite Company in Cambridge until retirment.
As a resident of Tewksbury she was active in St. William’s Church, where she was a member ofthe St. William’s Sodality.
She is survived by a sister, Rev. Sr. Helen Mannett, S.J. in Moncton, N.B., Canada, a brother, S.Lawrence Mannett of Somerville, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews.
She was also sister of the late Mary Richardson and Lea Goulet.
Her Funeral Mass was held Monday, Feb. 3 in St. William’s Church. Burial was in Tewksbury cemetery.
