Dorothy R. (Castaldo) Jenkins, 83 of New Bedford died January 27, 2003 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Frank Jenkins, and daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Ceridono) Castaldo.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Mingus, Texas and had lived in New Bedford and Lakeville before moving to Florida, settling in Lake Fairways, North Ft. Myers. She returned to live in New Bedford in June 2001.
She was a member of United Pilgrim Church of Christ in New Bedford.
Mrs. Jenkins owned the Royal Chrome Beauty Salon in New Bedford for many years.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Heritage Hills Country Club in Lakeville and the Lake Fairway Country Club in Florida.
She enjoyed reading and was an avid golfer for many years.
Survivors include a sister, Bruna Castaldo Rogers of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Her Funeral Services will be private.
