RUTH (LITCHFIELD) OSBORN, age 88, died on Saturday, Jan. 26th, 2008 at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth after a brief illness. Mrs. Osborn was born, raised and educated in Hingham and was a lifelong resident of the town. For 41 years she served as a librarian at the Hingham Public Library, retiring in 1994.
Wife of the late Francis A. Osborn, she leaves her two sons; Richard P. Osborn and his wife Andrea of Hingham and Robert A. Osborn and his wife Kathleen of Rockland. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also was the sister of the late Roy E. Litchfield, Jr. and the late Marjorie Tracy.
Friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
The funeral services and interment are to be private.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be preferred to the Hingham Public Library, 66 Leavitt St., Hingham, MA 02043.
