Obituary

John Milo Franzie Sr., of Halifax, formerly of Abington and Quincy, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife and family and under the care of Cranberry Hospice on Sunday January 20, 2008. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Franzie was born and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts along with his two sisters. He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II with the 3rd Class Ordinance. After being honorably discharged from the U. S. Navy, he worked as a sheetmetal worker and was a member of Local Unions # 5, # 17 and # 276. He was also a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax. After his retirement in 1988 he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his wife Caroline, to whom he was married to for 58 years, his five children, Jack Franzie Jr. and his wife of Sandwich, Candy Luddy of Pembroke, Gail Miller and her husband of Carver, Janet Buffington and her husband of Carver and Michael Franzie and his wife of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Karin Paris, Sarah Kendrick, John Franzie, Amanda Wentworth, Angela Moore, Jennifer Franzie, Sean Buffington, Brittany Franzie, Brett Franzie, and Alicia Franzie. Other survivors include his 6 great – grandchildren, Jillian and Jacob Paris, Kaylie and Keegan Wentworth and Leon and Layla Kendrick.

At the families request, all funeral services will be private and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
