Walter J. Jackunchuck, age 83 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday at the Avery Manor Nursing Home, Needham, MA.
He was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up and attended schools, and graduated from Lawrence High School. He was a resident of Salem for the past 65 years.
Mr. Jackunchuck was retired from Raytheon Corporation, where he was in Inventory Control. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Tank Core, during World War II. He was also a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem.

1 Brother: Edward Jackunchuck of Methuen, MA
5 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren
Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 25 from 9-11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
