TEWKSBURY--Rev. Robert F. Kilroy, OMI, 94 years old, died January 21st at Tewksbury State Hospital in Tewksbury, MA. He was born in Lowell, MA, the son of the late John and Annie (Cullen) Kilroy.
Fr. Kilroy, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1940. He was an educator from 1940 to 1980 then spent several years as a chaplain in the healthcare field. He retired to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Residence in Tewksbury, MA in September of 1991. He was at D’Youville Senior Care of Lowell from October, 2001 to July, 2002. He had been at Tewksbury State Hospital since July of 2002.
KILROY--All services and calling hours will be in the Chapel at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Residence, 486 Chandler Street, Tewksbury MA. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 24th. Burial will be in the Oblate Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations in memory of Fr. Kilroy may be made to the Oblate Infirmary Fund, 486 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876-2849.
