Jack Amaral, Sr., 68

Dateline: East Bridgewater

Jack Amaral, Sr., 68, of East Bridgewater formerly of Bridgewater died on Friday January 18, 2008 at Brockton Hospital in Brockton. He was the husband of Yudan (Gan) Amaral.
Born in St. Marie, the Azores Portugal on October 8, 1939 he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Loura) Amaral.
He attended schools in Bridgewater and in 1957 enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the Marines, Jack furthered his studies to become a CPA.
Mr. Amaral was a retired Automotive Foreman having worked at General Motors for 30 years at the company’s former Framingham plant.
Jack enjoyed working on cars, his specialty being transmission repair and being in the presence of his family. He had made his home in Bridgewater for over 50 years before recently moving to East Bridgewater.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his devoted children; Linda Reis of Bridgewater, Lisa Smith and her husband Duane of Attleboro, Lois Amaral of East Providence and Jack Amaral, Jr of Bridgewater, his stepson; Funing Wu of East Bridgewater, his siblings; Helen Ferreira, Isabel Bentley and Joseph Amaral all of Bridgewater, also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Prayer services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday January 24th at 10:30 A.M. at the Norton memorial funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 23rd from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
