TYNGSBORO - David R. Abreu, 57, a resident of Tyngsboro, died Friday, January 18th, 2008 in Lowell General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on March 11, 1950, in Lowell, MA, a son of the late Renato and the late Mary (Veiga) Abreu and graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1968.
After high school David enlisted into the United States Air force where he served during peace time.
Mr. Abreu was employed by the Town of Tyngsboro where he worked as the town assessor for 20 years. Previously he worked for the Tyngsboro Public School System in the maintenance department and he also worked in the banking business.
He was a longtime member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman's Club. In his free time he was an avid coin collector and an excellent uncle.
Mr. Abreu is survived by his brother, Francis R. Abreu and his wife Colleena of Tyngsboro; his sister, Theresa M. Shipley and her husband Herbert of Tyngsboro; his special friend Barbara Pare of Tyngsboro; his friend Robert Coggswell of Tyngsboro; many nephews and nieces.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Tuesday, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church in Tyngsboro. Interment in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery in Tyngsboro.
