Obituary

FLORIDA — Mary A. Kraihanzel of Lakeland, Florida and formerly of South Dartmouth, Ma., died Sunday January 13, 2008, at the Wedgewood Health Care Facility in Florida. She was the wife of the late William Kraihanzal who died in 1985.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Minigan) Moffett and lived in South Dartmouth until 1995 when she moved to Florida. Mary was employed as a telephone operator in New Bedford, then worked in the dietary department of the old Sol-e-Mar Hospital for Children and then St. Luke's Hospital until retiring in 1972.

An active member of the South Dartmouth Congregational Church, she devoted years of care to her late husband who was 100% disabled as a veteran of World War II.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn E. Grundy of Lakeland, Florida; her son, William C. Kraihanzel of Raynham, Ma.; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford on Saturday, January 19th from 11 A.M. to 12 noon, with a prayer service at noon. Burial will be private at a later date. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Memorial Fund of the Congregational Church, P.O. Box 608, So. Dartmouth, Ma. 02748.
