Obituary

WORCESTER____Chester F. “Frank” Jeznach, 89, of Worcester, died Sunday January 13 in his home.

He leaves his wife, Irene H. (Hutcheson) Jeznach, five children, Gail A. Ashey and her husband, Ronald J. of Worcester; Gary F. Jeznach, M.D. and his wife Patricia A. of Sturbridge; Nancy L. Bauer and her husband Edward J. of Leicester; C. Sherri Herbst of Leicester and Jeffrey F. Jeznach and his wife Kristen A. of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Edward Jeznach of Worcester and Raymond Jeznach of Charlton; four sisters, Stasia Midura and Irene Mrugala both of Auburn; Jane Richnick of Sterling and Teresa Ryder of West Boylston; 12 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, a son of Staneslaw and Franciszka (Matejkowska) Jeznach and lived here all his life.

Mr. Jeznach was an Accounting Manager for the U.S. Postal Service and worked there more than 30 years before retiring in1981. He also worked part time at the Charles Restaurant and after World War II he worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Co. He was a graduate of Classical High School and the New England School of Accounting.

Mr. Jeznach was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star medals. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the Polish American Veterans of World War II. He enjoyed polka dancing and bowling. Mr. and Mrs. Jeznach celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2007.

The funeral will be held on Thursday January 17 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday January 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of Polish American Veterans of World War II will meet at 7:30 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, Ma., 01610 or to UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St, Worcester, Ma., 01605.
