Obituary

Helen (Wong)Kee, 97, of Auburn died peacefully at home on Jan 12, 2008 after a brief illness. Her husband of 45 years James C. Kee died in 1975. She leaves 2 daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Jew, with whom she lived, Judith Doo and her husband Alfred of Sharon, 2 sons Thomas Kee and his wife Isabelle “Marty” of Barrington RI and Richard Kee and his wife Jennie of Newton, 1 sister, Fern, wife of Dr. Edward Chin of Athens GA, 13 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also had 3 brothers and 3 sisters that predeceased her. Helen was born in China and came to the US when she was 11 years old. She graduated from Portland High School in Maine. She then married in Boston in 1931 with a wedding of over 1000 people. Helen and her husband owned a gift shop and several restaurants in the Boston, Worcester and Auburn area. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church and was active in many church, school, civic and political activities throughout her life. She loved gardening, flowers, painting, bowling, crocheting and fishing. Her greatest moments were spending time with her family and friends. She was a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Visiting hours will be in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home 91 Central St. Auburn on Tues Jan 15 from 4-8 PM and in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Wed Jan 16 from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home in Newton on Thurs Jan 17 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery Jamaica Plain. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Auburn District nursing Assoc. 191 Pakachoag Ave. Auburn, MA 01501.
