Obituary

Bernard “Bernie” Fiebranz, age 81, died Sunday, Jan. 13, at Saints Memorial after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Cobbett) Fiebranz, with whom he would have celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary in April.
He was born in Westbend, Wisconsin, a son of the late Otto and Minna (Lahs) Fiebrantz. He moved with his family to Germany at age twelve where he lived until joining the United States Army in 1953. He married after his tour of duty, living briefly in Reading and Stoneham before settling to raise his family in Tewksbury in 1967.
He was a retired heavy truck mechanic and worked at Hemingway in Woburn, Consolidated Freight in Woburn, and retired from Lombard Brothers in Malden.
Besides being a family man, his interests included gardening, traveling, fishing, and reading, particularly about history.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott Fiebranz of Lowell, his two daughters, Sandra Fiebranz and Debra Fiebranz of Tewksbury; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudolph “Rudy” and his wife Martha Fiebrantz of Texas, Gerhard and his wife Frances Fiebrantz of CA.
He was also the brother of the late Florence Kryzick, Elizabeth Krawzow, Walter Fiebrantz and James Fiebrantz.

His Funeral Service was held Wednesday Jan. 16 in the funeral home. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations made to Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, Honoree Designation of Dr. Roman DeSanctis, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 , will be appreciated.
