Obituary

Andre “Larry” Vincent, 86, of Englewood, FL and Goffstown, NH died January 8, 2008 at Jacobsen Veterans Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, FL after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, NH on November 4, 1921, he was the third of three children to Antoine and Rose Emma (Auclair) Vincent. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Manchester in 1939.
During World War II he served in the US Army European Theatre of Operations with Headquarters Company Theatre Service Forces. Upon returning from the war, he married Pauline Comeau in February of 1946. She died in November of 2007.
Mr. Vincent had a long and successful career with the Prudential Insurance Company in the US and Canada. During his career he received many awards including one recognizing him as the number one district manager in all of Canada.
He lived throughout New England and for 23 years in Ottawa, Ontario. After retirement, he lived in Manchester, NH and wintered in Englewood.
The family includes seven children, Ron Vincent of Auburn, NH, Patty Davitt of Manchester, NH, Paul Vincent of Lakewood, WA, Dennis Vincent of Raleigh, NC, Michelle Rocheleau of Londonderry, NH, Theresa Swabey of Toronto, ONT and Rosemary Morrison of Ottawa, ONT; 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
IN HIS LIFE: He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by two sisters, Laurette Biron and Antoinette Bourque. The family also includes a close cousin, Pauline Poirier of Manchester, NH; and lifelong friends, Charles “Chuck” and Rita Liamos and Kim and Irene Berry all of Englewood, FL.
Mr. Vincent participated in numerous and varied activities during his long retirement. He especially enjoyed traveling, dancing, choir and gardening and was very proficient with computers. He wrote a book tracing the geneology of the Auclair and Vincent families. He also participated in many social activities in the Tangerine Woods Community in Englewood and he treasured his many friends and neighbors there. He will be remembered for his generosity and for his love and devotion to his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday January 14, 2008 at Parish of the Transfuguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester, NH. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH.
