Emma T. Oprisko, 95, entered into rest January 4, 2008 at the Ideal Senior Living Center, Endicott, NY. Emma was a resident of Blakely, PA for many years and moved to Endicott, NY. While in Blakely, she taught monthly religious education classes to young girls. In her residence in Endicott, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, the North Endicott Senior Club and the Endicott Senior Community Center. She had been employed at Burts Department Store.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Check, brother Michael Check, Irene Check, Mildred Postulka, Veronica Grancey and her loving husband George Oprisko. They were married 46 years. Nieces include Elaine M. Neary, Augusta, GA, Marie Ann Thompson, Pottstown, PA, Claire Woodworth, Peckville, PA, and Marie Danko, Baltimore, MD and several great nieces and great nephews.
Viewing will be at the Michael Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant Street, Olyphant, PA from 9-10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Funeral mass at Holy Ghost Church, Willow Avenue, Olyphant, PA. at 11 AM with Father Shane Kirby officiating. Following mass, burial at Holy Ghost Cemetery
