Obituary

Michael Arthur “Bing” Ferris, Jr., 72, of Meredith, NH, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Lakes Regional General Hospital in Laconia, NH. He was the husband of Audrey (Moore) Ferris for 50 years.

Born in Dedham on February 8, 1935, he was a son of the late Michael and Mabel (Deeb) Ferris. Mr. Ferris was a resident of Meredith for many years and formerly resided in Medway and Dedham.

He was a graduate of Dedham High School where he was an outstanding hockey and baseball player.

He was employed at Bald Peak Colony Club in Melvin Village, NH for several years and had previously worked at Boston Envelope in Canton for 30 years.

Mr. Ferris was an Army veteran serving for two years in the mid 1950’s and attained the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Ferris was an avid sports fan and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by; his daughter, Leslie Guyette and her husband, Richard of Medway his son, Michael Ferris and his wife, Coleen of Boxboro, three sisters, Helen Bedard of Reno, NV, Mabel Slifer of Bridgewater and Doris Martins of West Roxbury and three brothers, Arthur Ferris of Hingham, James Ferris of The Villages, FL and Ronald Ferris of Bristol, RI.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Tiffany Guyette-Polston, Ricky Guyette and Shawna and Michael Ferris and two great-grandchildren, Dominik and Isaiah.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, January 10 at 9 a.m. from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village Street in Medway at 10 o’clock. Burial will be private.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to a charity of one’s choice.
