Obituary

Leonard King (Kapuscinski) Jr. “Kappy” 81, of Shadowbrook Lane, a developer for over 50 years died Friday, January 4, 2008, at Bayberry Commons. He was the husband of Constance I. (Smith) Steinbrenner- King.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leonard G. King, Sr. and Besse (Shaw) King. He had been a resident of Smithfield since 1978 and had previously lived in Johnston.

He was a builder and owner of Leonard Construction Company in Greenville.
He was a Providence College Graduate. He was a Korean Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion and the Smithfield Elks. He was raised to Eagle Scout at the age of 15.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children David L. King of Smithfield, Barry J. King of Glocester, Donna M. Baribault of Foster, Peter A. King of Scituate, his grandchildren, Justine, Andrew, Alex, Jason, Georgia, Caroline, Virginia, his stepgrandchildren, Janine, Denise, Michael and John and Jeffrey, Tommy, Carmen and Scot and his stepdaughters Carolyn A. Ziemann and Diane M. Boeck both of Buffalo, NY.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday at a time to be announced in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
