O'NEIL, George E., Sr.- Of Malden. January 4th. Devoted husband of Leona A. "Lee" (Landry). Beloved father of Linda Murray-Fales and her husband Ronald of Melrose, Joyce Pasquale and her husband James of Wilmington, George E. O'Neil, Jr. of Malden, Lorraine Erlandson and her husband Robert of Haverhill and Patricia Walsh and her husband Robert of Wakefield. Loving brother of James O'Neil of NH, Robert O'Neil and Evelyn "Dot" Maccioli both of Malden and the late Eugene and Leon O'Neil. Cherished grandfather of Dennis Murray, Leah Pasquale, Amanda, Laura and Robert Erlandson, Jr. Also lovingly survived by his great granddaughter Danielle Murray as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Monday morning, January 7th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, MALDEN at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 3-6 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Born in Boston and a lifelong Malden resident, George at 78 years of age, passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a short illness. For over 30 years he was affliated with the Shawmut Bank and after their acquisition, the State Street Bank in many senior positions. A graduate of Northeastern University he was a member of the South Broadway Association.
