Maria Conceicao (Ferreira) Torres, age 88 of Fall River. Widow of Antonio R. Torres. Daughter of the late Jose de Sousa Ferreira & Maria (Almeida Mello) Ferreira. Passed away in Fall River Jan. 2, 2008. She was born in Fall River and a resident since 1953. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church. Before retiring, she was a Sewing Machine Operator at San Toro, Sagamore Shirt Co., A. Soloff & Sons & a member of UNITE.
She is survived by 2 children: Manuel Torres & wife Eduarda of Fall River, & Mary Powell & husband Richard of Assonet. 2 siblings: Manuel Ferreira & Isabel Medeiros both of Fall River. l Granddaughter: Laurie Torres. Many nieces, nephews, & godchildren. She was also sister of the late Maria Sousa, Inez A. Mello Ferreira, Joao Ferreira, & Jose A. Ferreira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Michael Church at 10:00A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-9 PM.
