Obituary

Edmund J. “Gunny” Quinn, 77, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the home of his daughter after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Josephine W. (Winerman) Quinn. Born in Boston, he was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston Schools. Mr. Quinn was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps for over 20 years, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He later worked for Raytheon in Waltham and at Automatic Radio in Canton for several years. He was a member of the American Legion, Amvets and VFW all in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed reading and history.

He is survived by his daughter, Nada I. Smith and her husband Ronald E. of Wrentham. Grandfather of Kimberly M. Smith and Ronald E. Smith II of Wrentham.

A Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Saturday, January 5 at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 5-8 PM. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
