Obituary

Clinton T. Jenkins 87, died Tuesday January 1st in the Brockton Hospital.
He was the husband for 62 years of “Happy Marital Bliss” to Bessie F. (Look) Jenkins.

Born and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Turpel) Jenkins, and a graduate of Whitman High.

Clint served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945, stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, where he was an Aviation Machinist Mate and received many medals for his service.

He drove truck for Colburn Vault of Whitman for 27 years.

He was a life long resident of Whitman where he was a dedicated member of the Methodist Church, the church choir, and was a lay leader for many years. He was a very active member of the VFW Post 697 in Whitman and a member of the Masonic Puritan Lodge.

He especially loved his family, friends, church and the outdoors.

In addition to his wife Bessie, he is survived by his children; Douglas Jenkins and his wife Diane of Marston Mills, David Jenkins and his wife Sue of NH, Marsha E. Alden and her husband Wayne of Whitman, his son-in-law Glenn Riskin of Easton, his best friend Harry Blakeman of Abington, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Paula Riskin and brother of the late Corrine Rice.

His funeral service will be held Monday January 7th at 11:00 AM in the United Methodist Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours are omitted by request of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 503 South Ave., Whitman, MA 02382 of to the Alzheimer’s assoc. / Mass Chapter, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
