Eleanor B. Towle, 93, of Towle Road, Chester, NH died Monday January 20, 2003 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born on January 10, 1910, in E. Dedham, MA, a daughter of the late Charles S. and Ethel B. (Mills) Watt. She received her high school education at Pinkerton Academy, Derry. She lived at the Home Nook Farm in Chester where she had resided over 75 years, formerly living in Derry. She was a member of the Chester Congregational/Baptist Church, Chester. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, James W. Towle in 1983. Mrs. Towle enjoyed sewing quilt squares, playing scrabble and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five sons, Phillip A. Towle, El Paso, TX, James W. Towle, Chester, Edward A. Towle, Goffstown, Wayne E. Towle, Tarrell N. Towle, both of Chester, three daughters, Ariel L. Cottrell, Ventura, CA, Sharon N. Purdy, Shalimar, FL, Marilyn R. Banks, Strafford, NH, 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two nephews, Carlton Watt, Washington, Charles Watt, Derry, one niece, Eleanor Barton, Derry.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 24, 2003 at 11:00am at the Chester Congregational/Baptist Church, corner of Route 102 and Route 121. Burial will be in the Spring at the Village Cemetery, Chester. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
