Obituary

Katherine F. (DeSimone) Ammidown, 90 of Weymouth and formerly of Franklin died December 30 in South Shore Hospital Weymouth. She was the wife of the late Clifton S. Ammidown.
Born in Boston, August 2, 1917 the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Thing) DeSimone, Mrs. Ammidown was raised in Dorchester and had lived in Franklin for many years until moving to Weymouth to live with her daughter in 1997.
Mrs. Ammidown had been the cook at St. Mary’s rectory in Franklin for 10 years before retiring. She had previously worked as a cook at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood.
Mrs. Ammidown enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She is survived by her sons, Robert S. Kennedy Jr. of Cottageville SC., Clifton S. Ammidown Jr. of Franklin, her daughters, Edith M. Moroney of Flower Mound, TX and Catherine Hurlebaus of Weymouth. She was the mother of the late James M. Kennedy and Barbara M. Kennealey.
She is also survived by two brothers, Francis DeSimone of Grafton and Paul DeSimone of Medway, a sister, Alice DeSimone of Medway, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 3 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
