Obituary

Evelyn V. Noyes, 104 a lifelong resident of Chester, NH died December 29, 2007 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry, NH. Mrs. Noyes was born in Chester on November 22, 1903 the daughter of the late Walter W. and Carolyn Lane. During WWII she was an aircraft spotter for the civil defense. She was a member of the Neighborhood Club, the Fort Nightly Club and the Ladies Social Circle of Chester. Mrs. Noyes was also a 4H leader in Chester for many years and a longtime member of the Chester Congregational-Baptist Church. Mrs. Noyes was a holder of the Boston Post Cane in Chester.
She is survived by her three sons, Warren Noyes and his wife Candy of Concord, NH, George Noyes and his wife Linda, Richard Noyes and his wife Sally both of Chester, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren F. Noyes in 1992 and also by her sisters, Carolyn Stannard and Ruth Clement.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Friday January 4, 2008 from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service was held at 11:00am Saturday, January 5th in the Chester Congregational-Baptist Church, Chester. Burial will be in Great Hill Cemetery, Chester in the spring.
