Dorothy M. Fortier, 97, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mrs. Fortier was born in Chester, NH on March 12, 1910, a daughter of the late Charles and Mae (French) Smith. She was a resident of Derry for the past 35 years, formerly living in Concord, NH. Mrs. Fortier was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, class of 1927. She married Robert J. Fortier in 1969 in St. Petersburg, FL. Mrs. Fortier had been employed by the Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare and was a claims administrator for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1970.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Fortier in 1972.
Following cremation, a memorial was held on Wednesday, January 2nd at 11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry in the spring.
