Obituary

Ray Kelley, 76, of Snellville (formerly of Fitzgerald) died Friday, December 28 at Emory Eastside Medical Center in Snellville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 31, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Pitts Cemetery, Wilcox County. Visitation will be held from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Kelley was born October 8, 1931 in Stephens County to the late Noah Clinton and Lettie Ora Pitts Kelley. He lived with his daughter in Snellville for the past 2 months from Fitzgerald and was a former resident of Decatur. Mr. Kelley was the former Manager of the Yellow Jacket Drive In and the Old Hickory House Barbecue in Atlanta and J J’s Barbecue in Stone Mountain. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War era. Mr. Kelley was a retired restaurant manager. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Mr. Kelley is survived by his daughter and son, Lisa (Steve) Minter and Marion Kelley both of Snellville, GA; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers, Everett Kelley of Rebecca, GA and Calvin Kelley of Cleveland, GA; sisters, Hellon Hogan and Edna Oliver both of Fitzgerald, GA and Mary Brown of West Palm Beach, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Kelley and Albert Kelley.
