Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Jeanette F. (Parsons) Thurston, 77, died December 25, 2007 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the wife of Bradley B. Thurston.
Born in Gloucester on January 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Wallace A. and Jenny P. (Varney) Parsons. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester.
Mrs. Thurston was employed as a secretary for seventeen years for the City of Gloucester’s Department of Public Works. She was a member of the West Gloucester Trinitarian Congregational Church and its Ladies Aid Society. She was also an avid amateur artist and enjoyed doing stained glass and crafts.
In addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Dawn D. (Cahoon) Thurston of Moultonboro, NH, a granddaughter Amanda D. Thurston of Moultonboro, NH, a sister and two brothers-in-law, Eunice and Richard Eppler of Warner Robbins, GA, George W. Thurston of Gloucester, two sisters-in-law, Frances Ruggles and Nancy Amazeen both of Gloucester, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brian R. Thurston.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon in the West Gloucester Trinitarian Congregational Church, 488 Essex Avenue, Gloucester at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
