
Mary Eleanor (Lake) Prescott, age 84, of Mystic River Homes, Noank, formerly of Golden Road, Mystic, died Monday morning at Mary Elizabeth Nursing Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Montrose, PA on June 3, 1918 the daughter of Searl W. Lake and Lillian L. Perry Lake. Raised in Montrose, she attended local schools and was a 1940 gradaute of the University of Pennsylvania.
A longtime resident of Mystic, she was employed in the research department at Pfizer for over 30 years before retiring.
She was married to Francis J. “Jake” Prescott in Clinton on April 28, 1943. Mr. Prescott died February 27, 1996.
Mrs. Prescott is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Panciera of North Stonington, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Searl W. Lake Jr.
A private service will be conducted on Thursday. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
Donations in Mrs. Prescott’s memoy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
POST-SERVICE NOTICEA Funeral Service for Mrs. Prescott was conducted Thursday afternoon at The Dinoto Funeral Home.
The Rev. Heidi Reinker, pastor of the Old Mystic Methodist Church, officiated.
Burial followed beside her late husband, "Jake" Prescott at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
