Obituary

Flannery, Leona (Dunphy) of Quincy,formerly of Dorchester & South Boston, December 24, 2007. The beloved wife of the late John J. Flannery. Loving mother of John Flannery of Wichita Falls, TX, Joanne Brissenden of Brockton and Thomas Flannery of North Weymouth. Leona is predeceased by 6 brothers.Devoted grandmother of Dianne, Edward, Brad, Denisse and Alysson Flannery and David Brissenden. Great grandmother of Kelleigh Flannery. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Leona was born and raised in South Boston.She graduated from Gate of Heaven High School where she was the senior class president. She worked as a seamstress at Mary Burns bridal shop as well as Jordan Marsh. Leona also worked as a head teller at State Street Bank and then later worked in the accounting department at Federal Reserve Bank. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband John and then later with her friends, who were her bridesmaids, whom she remained so close too all these years . A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who always put her family first. She was a true care giver. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a proud member of the Castle Island Association.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 9 AM.

Funeral Mass in Gate Of Heaven Church in South Boston at 10 AM.

Visiting hours Friday 4- 8 PM.

Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.
