DRACUT - Mary E. (Wrenn) Adie, 82, a 48 year resident of Dracut, formerly a resident of Lowell, died Sunday, December 23rd, 2007 in D'Youville Senior Care. For 58 years she was the loving wife of the late James F. Adie who died on June 13th, 2006.
She was born on September 29, 1925 in Lowell, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and the late Esther C. (Ganley) Wrenn. Mrs. Adie graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1943.
In her free time she loved reading and was a self professed news junkie who read two newspapers every day. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Adie also took pleasure in traveling with her husband, especially to Ogunquit, ME.
Mrs. Adie was a devout catholic who loved her home, her family, and the town of Dracut.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Geralyn and Ronald Gelina of Charlotte, NC, Robert and Kathleen Adie of Henderson, NV, Joanne and Henry Altenweg of Poestenkill, NY , James and Susan Adie of Hudson, NH; five grandsons, Matthew Gelina of SC and Daniel Gelina of NC, Michael, Christopher and Antonio Adie of Hudson, NH; her sister, Sheila McCartney of Lawrence; her sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Adie of Dracut and Anne Adie of Dracut; twenty-one nephews and nieces.
She was also the sister of the late Gerald Wrenn and the late Anna Linehan.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 8:00 AM followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 AM at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
