Virginia M. (Monteiro) Almeida, 79, of Dartmouth died December 22, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Antone "Tony" Almeida.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, the daughter of the late John and Maria (Silva) Monteiro, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.
Mrs. Almeida was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed at St. Luke's Hospital for 13 years until her retirement and had previously worked at the Gosnold Mill.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Patricia Henderson, and her husband Darry, of Stoughton; 3 sons, Jeffrey Ramos of Taunton, Robert Ramos, and his wife Lee, of Dartmouth and Russell Almeida, and his wife Veronica, of Pearland, TX; a brother, Joseph Monteiro of Dartmouth; a sister, Justina "Tina" Teixeira of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Peter Monteiro.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Thursday, December 27th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, December 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
