Olympia L. Formicola, age 85, of Medford died December 20th at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Michele and Assunta (Giuliano) Formicola.
Olympia worked for a number of tears as an x-ray technician at the Somerville Hospital and later worked as a social worker in Chelsea and Revere for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was also active with the Younger Seniors Club of the North End of Boston.
In addition to her late parents, she is predeceased by her sister Constance Letty. She is survived by her Sisters Edith Letty of Malden and Jessie Formicola of Medford. She is also survived by her niece Diane F. Peterson of Hollis, ME, nephews, Robert M. Letty of Lynn, Donald F. Letty of Wakefield, Clifford P. Letty of Reading, and Richard M. Letty of Malden. She is further survived by her grandnieces Megan and Melissa Peterson.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday, December 24th, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
